Celebrate 20 years of the donor registry at the Gift of Life Gala April 18!

CONGRATS TO OUR DONATE LIFE NC GRADS!

We are delighted to announce the 2018 class of Donate Life NC Honor Cord recipients!

These amazing students volunteered their time, creativity and energy this past year as donation advocates making positive change in their communities.  Each one spent at least 40 hours of service working as advocates for organ, eye and tissue donation through special projects, registration drives, volunteer work or another form of civic engagement. In recognition of their services, each was awarded the Donate Life NC blue and green Honor Tassel for their graduation regalia, a certificate and an enamel pin.

This year’s honored students are: Taylor Hill of Snow Hill; Duncan Fratoni of High Point; Aby Taylor of Oak Island (pictured); Jacob Brendle of Yadkinville and Arlette Jacobo of Wilmington.  Of the experience, Aby wrote, "Well, I’ve always been very big into helping others whenever possible. This year I’m a senior and we had to do a senior project. I did mine on organ and blood donation. I ran a blood drive and had a sign up fundraiser for organ donation. I signed up probably 50-100 people to become donors. I’ve always loved helping, so I’m very glad Donate Life NC has been so helpful throughout the whole process. It’s a wonderful program and I’d like to thank it for doing what it does. "

Congratulations to all our recipients as they continue on their journeys.  And, thank you for all you have done working to help ensure every North Carolinian has a chance to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor!
