February 2014 - Do You #GotHeart?

February 14. What does that mean to you? Do images of chocolates and roses come to mind? How about cards and candy? What about saving lives?

Saving lives? Yes, because February 14 is National Donor Day: a time to reflect on the incredible gifts of life we can all give to each other. To us, giving life is what it really means to have heart and to care about others, both while you are here and after you are gone.

#GotHeart?     Inspire friends and family to talk about the power of organ, eye and tissue donation.

#GotHeart?     You don’t need to be a legend to leave a legacy.  Register as an organ, eye and tissue donor.

#GotHeart?     If you needed a transplant, would you have one?  Then register today to give the gift of hope to someone who might need it someday.

This Sunday, many of you will be watching the Super Bowl – and we wonder:

Who’s #GotHeart? #Broncos? #Seahawks? Either way, you can be a #DonateLifeChampion.

Who’s #GotHeart?  #PeytonManning? #RussellWilson?  Both quarterbacks can be #DonateLifeChampions

YOU can be part of our #GotHeart? campaign from February 1 – 14.  If you are on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or any other social media site, use the hashtag #GotHeart?  to spread our message.

Our vision is to create a moment over the next 14 days where people talk with their loved ones about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. Please look for our images and posts on social media and share them widely. Use the hashtag #GotHeart? on all your posts!

And remember, National Donor Day recognizes those who have given the gifts of organ, tissue, eye, blood, bone marrow, and umbilical cord donation, so we also encourage you to share information throughout that week about ways to donate through Donate Life NC, the American Red Cross, Be the Match and more. If you do encourage people to register as organ, eye and tissue donors, please use the following link: http://www.donatelifenc.org/register

We have attached a few #GotHeart? images below.  We’ve given you some ideas to get the conversation started, but we know that you’ve #GotHeart and have lots of creative ideas to add.  So get out there, share the love, and find out who’s #GotHeart?
