LifeShare Of The Carolinas

LifeShare Of The Carolinas has proudly facilitated organ transplants throughout southwestern North Carolina for over 40 years. As a federally designated organ procurement organization, LifeShare is the link between people who need transplants and the donors who make those transplants possible.

LifeShare is a member of the federally mandated Organ Procurement and Transplant Network and works closely with the United Network for Organ Sharing, which maintains the national computerized waiting list for potential transplant recipients. In addition to the organ procurement organization, LifeShare also operates a full-service Eye Bank and recovers tissue for transplant.

The organization is based in Charlotte with a satellite office in Asheville. LifeShare’s mission is “to improve the quality of human life through the provision of organs and tissues for transplantation and to serve our hospitals and their respective communities by providing educational and support services which enhance the donation process.”
