August 31, 2012 – Changes to a tiny heart made a significant, positive impact on the lives of thousands across the country five years ago today. Instead of the red heart serving as a symbol of intent to donate organs and eyes, the organ donation legislation made this shape a legally-binding decision for adults over the age of 18.
